The way to this rural Catholic church is lined by Sycamore trees. The Immaculate Heart of Mary has served generations in the Abbottstown community as a gathering place for celebrations, a place for contemplation and a place for remembering those who have passed. I was introduced to it when my son joined their Boy Scout Troop. As you rounded the bend in the road, it was always a welcome sight to see the church appear in the middle of fields anchored by the tall mottled trunks of the Sycamores.
